It has always been you

What is the purpose of having and idolizing and connecting to something intangible?  That relies merely on faith/belief alone.. What I have come to realize is that the purpose in having this almighty figure is that it gives us metaphysical comfortability.   We literally become comforted by a belief in that this energy will guide us, give us answers to questions, and manifest our desires/answer prayers.  So what happens when we tap into speaking to this energy?
When we pray, what are we really doing?  Even though it may seem like people pray to a particular source, what we are really doing is speaking authentically and vulnerably to ourselves.  We are using particular religious figures as mediums to speak to ourselves.  Whether we are asking our self a question, speaking on behalf of what we desire, or just merely expressing what we are grateful for, it is all being spoken to ourselves and imprinted onto our subconscious mind.  Therefore, when we seek a higher source for whatever it may be, we really are opening up and speaking to our higher selves thus in that moment creating our reality through being vulnerable and authentic communication.  This shows how important it is when manifesting our life.
Whatever route or being you use to create and gain answers to your life, I honor and appreciate.  Keep in mind though that it is you, it always has been, and it will continue to be you who is creating your experience, gaining insight to questions, and discovering answers.
