Perfection

- Reflection of Perfection -

Take a look,
you may find me in the smallest grain of sand
or some tattoo you have of your favorite band.
If it isn't found there, then where?
Maybe it is in how we speak
or in moments where we are weak.
You see, some say I do not exist
but those are the ones who miss;
who miss what is right in front of them
or better yet, within them.

I am wherever you think I am.
I am wherever you think I am not.
In time you will see the most perfect part of me.
Open your third eye
and allow divine to reside inside.

It is moments like these
that sometimes bring us to our knees.
We cry because we remember,
we remember our perfect nature
with an imperfect path of nurture.

I am seen without and felt within,
now, take some time and breathe me in.

Inner Responsibility

We can all think of a time or "the" time we took a step into the world of responsibility.  For myself, I was around the age of 12 just before my teenage years.  This new and upcoming journey would require me to show and prove to myself that I am not a "kid" anymore.  Becoming responsible is a transforming process for a lot of us.  It was the moment that we inevitably put ourselves second and our responsibilities first.  For some of us, this hasn't changed.

Responsibility is a beautiful concept and something of great importance but we have strayed away from its true nature.  Our current definition and application has taken us more outside of ourselves than ever.  Responsibility is not just a one time ordeal, it requires our energy and focus countless times in a given day, everyday.  Whether it be, mowing the lawn, paying bills, doing dishes, cleaning the house, running to the grocery store, writing a paper for school, picking kids up from school, and run to a doctors appointment.  We generally have a lot going on in our lives!  Don't get me wrong, these are important responsibilities of ours and we should still stay responsible for completing them but there is an important part missing within this daily process.

One could begin dissecting and redefining responsibility by asking the question, "what happens to ourselves as we became more focused on external events"?  The answer...we start to become irresponsible for what is happening within.  We lose connection to ourself due to our attention moving outward.

It's time we understand the the essence of responsibility is not taking care of things outside of ourselves (even though that is a definite part of it) but more so taking responsibility for what is happening within us.  We must transition into deepening our connection with being more responsible for our actions, and more responsible for how we think and feel.

Let us re-stimulate the drive for inner responsibility.

When we make this agreement, get ready to watch life unfold.  I say "watch" because when we step back into inner self responsibility, we will start to connect with observance or awareness if you will.  Our life will become one of conscious and deliberate acts, not unconscious and unintentional.

Generally speaking, we tend to find ourselves living life in an autopilot state.  I, like many, have fallen subject to routine and neglect.  Routine being our autopilot state of existence (mindless) and neglect being the state in which we have lost connection to taking responsibility for ourselves.

There is importance in getting things done but is it really worth it if we are neglecting ourselves in the process?  This is what leads me to my main point.

During this process of life, it is easier to live irresponsibly than to be responsible because we generally have so much going on that the first thing we neglect is ourselves and I am not just talking about physical neglect which seems to be the most noticeable.

Remember, there is only ONE of YOU.  We mustn't lose responsibility for our physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health.  Take back responsibility for yourself and the life you live now will only get better!

Make a deliberate and honest effort to keep living the life you are but carry awareness with you.  We must stop these irresponsible (unconscious) acts and transform them into responsible (aware) actions.

"Be responsible for you, not the you outside of you but the you inside of you." - J.B

***Now, I am generalizing this without any in depth studies.  This is merely an observation I have been making over the past few years through talking to others and even relaying my philosophy on responsibility to them and receiving feedback on it whether my argument is valid or not.  None of this is certain but I feel as though it applies to more of us than we may think.***
