#disruptmediocrity

I had the privilege of attending an intimate seminar with the great Dr. James Rouss.

He hit on two key points.  Only one (1) of which I will discuss today.

1.  Disrupt Mediocrity
2.  People just want to be seen

What does it mean to disrupt mediocrity?  I have come to see it as disrupting the flow of comfortability, interrupt our complacency, stop being "ok" with where we are, and do not compromise.

How amazing is it to be comfortable?  It feels incredible, right?  I absolutely love feeling comfortable whether it be in my favorite sweats (which I am wearing right now) or maybe remaining from telling someone something because I am afraid of how they will respond.  Being comfortable in the sense of living life is something, as a species, has always been our primary focus...From a Darwinistic approach, our main goal is to survive and what we have discovered is that comfortability is our safest route to staying alive....but is it?  When we are comfortable, it is generally with something we have done before, we know it, we understand it, we know what its going to do for us, we know it we know it we know it!  What we "don't know" is where uncomfortability arises, where fear taps in, the unknown slowly begins to disrupt mediocrity but to disrupt being mediocre is to go against what we instinctually have come to know as being comfortable, our safe house.
In order to disrupt mediocrity, we need to step foot outside of our safe house, out do and out perform the self we were the other day, or this previous moment.  It is easy to become complacent.  This falls back to being "ok" with where we are and what we are doing.  I am all for embracing our current circumstance but this is not an excuse to stop evolving, leaning, and growing.  You see, we tend to compromise what we want with what we are given.  We settle.  Well guess what, DONT SETTLE!  Never settle, life is not meant to be lived in a complacent state, just being "ok", ad compromising aspects of our life for others.  Uncomfortability sucks, I know it does, and I'm sure you know too!  But have you ever been in an uncomfortable, unknown moment, and made it out alive?  ABSOLUTELY YOU HAVE.  I know you have and you know you have.  So what is stopping us from disrupting mediocrity?
We are...yes...we are...we are allowing our stories to keep us tied down to where we are.  We can only go as far as we allow ourselves to go.  With this story we tell ourselves, we are either limiting or expanding our ability to venture further and deeper into the incredible, awe generating moments of life.  If you want to grow, if you want to transcend your current platform of self, we must be willing to get uncomfortable.  We must be willing.  That is by far the most imprint characteristic when disrupting mediocrity, we must be willing.  When you are willing to do whatever it takes, you will get to wherever you desire most.  Start with this, perform one thing a day that is uncomfortable.  Empower yourself through these micro-successes.  Your uncomfortable moment may be big or small, size doesn't matter, it is the fact you are deliberately putting yourself in that position, working in it, and then moving beyond it with the attitude of "I can and I did".

Peace and Love to you always.

Manifesting 101

What does it mean to manifest?  Well, to simply put, we are doing it right now...in this moment, whether we are aware of it or not.  The process of manifesting can be deliberate or default.  To manifest is to create.  We all may believe in some sort of creator or have faith in a creator rather.  It is hard to believe in something we cannot see, this is why we have faith.  Please excuse that random tangent.  What I am trying to get at is that WE ARE CREATORS.  This may be a little hard to swallow and fully grasp, maybe this will upset you, scare you, whatever happens, just allow it to be without any judgement, all that is about to happen is me give my opinion on what I have come to believe is the process of manifesting.  We have created everything that has happened in our life.  Now, there are some thoughts that I'm sure are coming up like a death in the family.  This is the grey area that I am still a little uncertain with.  I do not believe that we manifest anyones death.  Since death is a natural process of our human existence it'd be a little radical to say we create it.  All we do is experience it.
Now, what we do create is a big portion of our lives.  As we have learned so far, we create our life.  We create so much more than we can even fathom at times.  When we surrender to the fact that we create "everything" we experience, we take control and become accountable for our life and everything that happens in it.  Obviously as I stated in the above paragraph, there are instances in which this ideology is a little radical.  Nonetheless, lets visit a few moments in which manifestation took physical form, which it generally does.  It can also take form in thoughts/emotions.
Have you ever experienced one bad moment and then many more bad moments occurred?  I can say that I have.  Why is this though?  Is it because I was unlucky?  Or maybe because I deserved it via Karma?  All of these points of view are possibilities but I argue unlikely.  What seems more fitting is that WE CREATED more of these bad moments.  How?  By route of our attention upon the situation at hand.  More so how we responded to the given circumstance.
A manifestation occurs through our focus upon it.  If we focus on smiling as much as we can today and we keep reminding ourselves to smile, what do you think is going to happen?  We will start to create experiences that are in alignment with the vibration we are focusing on, which in this case, is smiling.  When we smile, we are generally happy, amongst many other higher vibrational states such as joy, bliss, or enthusiasm.  In short, whatever we focus upon most, we will create, good and bad.
Why does it seem easier to manifest bad experiences than good ones?  I'll tell you this much, it is a hell of a lot easier to be negative than it is to be positive.  Our Ego always wants to play the role of victim and judge.  Here is something mind boggling; if we stay victims to our past experiences, we will keep manifesting those past experiences in the present.  Have you ever had a friend that says, "I always date douchebags" or "I seem to always date the bad guys."  Why is this?  Why does that keep occurring?
I asked a friend of mine once about her relationships and the above responses were hers.  She proceeded to tell me all the things she didn't want in a relationship, all of which you can probably already assume are negative.  After she relayed that to me, I had a moment of clarity where I realized her focus was upon what she DIDNT WANT.  Ahhhh this is the moment where the light bulb goes off.  Thats just it!  What if our focus with many things is on what we DONT WANT instead of what we DO WANT.  Of course we don't want certain things but the Universe, or your higher power, does not recognize "want" and "don't want"  she only recognizes the essence of what we speak about.  So with that being said, we now must be aware of how we speak and what we speak.  The universe hears everything and through the law of reciprocity, she will always give you experiences and physical manifestations of what you are most aligned with, positive, negative, happy, sad; she will always give to you what you are radiating out.
Since we are constant manifestors and co-creators, how can we manage the intensity of what it is we are creating.  I've had moments where things are almost instantaneously manifested, whether it be me thinking of someone and then boom, they text are call me not minutes later; or one instance where I was giving this deliberate manifesting thing a try and wanted to drive a convertible car because I never have before, then about a few days later, I came to visit my mother and she had a rental car that was in fact, a convertible.  These are just a few of many examples that have occurred in my life.
One thing we must understand is that not everything we think about, will manifest in the form we want it to.  An example of this is the convertible car.  When I was sitting at my house deliberately manifesting this experience, I was vague in my thought.  I focused merely on a covetable car as well as what it would feel like the moment it happened.  The vagueness actually helps during this process because if I were to be especially specific, I may have said, a yellow, 20017, camero, which hey, would've been badass but in that moment where the car was presented, I saw it for its essence, a convertible.  If I were stuck on the specific attributes of my manifestation, I may have missed that opportunity.  Long story short, our manifestations are created in many shapes and sizes, it is up to us to focus on the ESSENCE of our manifestation.  I am all for being specific, but do not stay attached to the final product.
So if a mere thought can create, can't we just think and poof! our manifestation occurs?  Most definitely not, even though it CAN happen and is possible.  However, I would not rely on it.  Thoughts are a great start and we should always start there but in order to gain moment, we must take the necessary actions in order for it to create.  Our actions may be one of the most underutilized and overlooked parts of the whole platform of manifesting.
When we think about whatever it is we want to manifest, be sure to FEEL GOOD.  If we do not feel good about what we are thinking about, we are not in alignment with what we are thinking about.  Our emotions are an important guidance system in our manifesting process.
Surrender yourself to the fact that you create most of what you experience.  Some may argue that it is everything you experience but remember, there are certain things that may not apply to this process.  With this new wisdom and knowledge we have acquired, let us put it into practice.  Like anything, we can't be perfect at it right away.  What we can do is become the best we can through time and focus.  Remember these key aspects when manifesting:
1.  We manifest all the time
2.  Be deliberate in the direction and creation of your thoughts
3.  Feel good when you are creating
4.  Focus on the ESSENCE of your manifestation
5.  Start of general and then refine to more specificity as you get better
6.  Own your life, be accountable for "everything" that happens in your life, good and bad
7.  Whatever you align yourself with, you will create more of.
8.  Our thoughts create our reality

Peace and Love always my Brothers and Sisters!

Bad moments

Have you ever had a bad day?  I think most of us internally nodded our head, yes.  What was your bad day consisted of?  Was it one moment that snowballed into an entire day?  Or was your day actually not that bad but your focus upon the bad moment created the illusion of a bad day?

Personally, I don't believe there are bad days.  However, I do believe there can be bad moments that, when we allow, will generate even more bad moments which alas, create a bad day.  But even then, our attention upon whatever it is will create more of it.  This is a Universal Law.  Focus upon good, more good will manifest and vise versa.

However, we must not forget about balance.  Not every moment will be extravagant and blissful, this is why they are called moments; continually shifting depending on our vibration.

Continuing on...

A bad moment can take many directions dependent on ones perception.

From my personal day to day experience, I have narrowed a bad moment into keeping it as such, nothing more.  Do your best to not allowing a moment to turn into multiple moments.

How easy is it to feel bad for yourself and the given circumstance when something bad happens such as spilling food onto the kitchen floor when in a hurry? (my personal experience)  I'd say it is a hell of a lot easier and more instantaneous than switching it to a positivist and optimistic view.

Here is the thing, when something not in your favor happens, the "poor me" or irritated and angry state of being occurs, generally speaking of course.  This response may or may not happen to you but if it does, the first step is becoming aware of this reaction to the situation.  What is so beautiful about this reaction, if it is one you do, is that there is the opposite we can participate in.  Thank goodness for duality, right?

So if we are reacting in this manner to circumstances that are not in our favor, lets change it!  Ah, at last, the golden question... HOW DO WE KEEP AN UNFAVORABLE MOMENT JUST A MOMENT AND NOTHING MORE?!

I have stumbled across a particular mantra that has drastically changed my life and would be honored to share it with you all with the intention of you applying this to your life.  We all have our own path but sometimes it is nice to share techniques that help us along the way.  Here it is!

"Everything that happens is the best possible thing that can happen."

Okay, so now what?  Maybe explaining my story as to how I've implemented this will help.

I came across this mantra in a book called, "Zen and the Art of Happiness", which I would 100% recommend.  Nonetheless, after hearing and feeling out this mantra, I decided to bring it into my daily thoughts and use it as a tool for when unfavorable situations occur.  It is pretty simple really, when something unfavorable is happening or has happened, just repeat to yourself, "This is the best possible thing that can happen."  Whether you believe it or not, you are the first one to hear it and this statement is one that encompasses what I like to believe is of a high vibration and will affect you in a positive way.

Now, maybe there are certain circumstances such as a death of a loved one and in which that case this mantra seems a little difficult to apply but we must also remember the impermanence of life.  I don't want to spend too much time on this so moving forward.

There are other ways we can implement this mantra too which I'll post below.

1.  Make it the first thing you verbally say to yourself every morning
2.  During the unfavorable circumstance, respond with it
3.  Set a timer to go off every hour and repeat this mantra no matter where you are or what you're doing
4.  Repeat for 1 minute straight every morning "everything that happens today is the best possible thing that can happen"

This may be difficult at first to truly believe and if that is the case, fake it till you become it.

If you want to live your life where everyday is a good day, invite this mantra into your space.

Remember, there are only bad moments, not bad days.

Namaste my friends
