The End of Suffering is Yoga

To me, means that when one awakens to the conscious state of awareness and self-realizes, Yoga begins.  As stated in the above quote (title) from Krishna to Arjuna in the Gita, suffering ceases once Yoga begins.  Yoga in the context of Pantanjali is an 8 limbed process that is not orderly, meaning, you can act in any limb of the 8 without having to go from 1 to 2 to 3 and so on.  In particular there is one aspect of the 8 limbs, which is Pratyhara or withdrawal (control of) from the 5 senses.  From my personal experience with suffering, it seems to coincide with the state of suffering because suffering to me is a 5 sensory phenomenon.  However, attachment to our sensory experience is what also creates the experience of suffering.  As we move out of the unconscious autopilot state of consciousness, we move towards the awakened state of consciousness through Yoga.  Moving towards this is the path and end of all suffering.  An ideal continued living state is Yoga.  This is the end goal, which is endless and ever-expanding.

I would love to know more of what this means to you!  Post below in the comments.

Experiencer

"The experiencer becomes the experience"

-  Anand Mehrotra

Let us take a look at the illusion of separateness first to gain a more in depth understanding of this statement.  As we experience something, whatever it may be, there is the experience and the one who experiences it.  However, these are not separate from one another.  The experience is what it is because of the experiencer and her/his perception.

As we move into a deeper understanding through the experience of this cosmic dance, we begin to create the ability to become one with the experience which is what I mean by the saying, "the experiencer becomes the experience".  There is no longer a separate experience and experiencer, they are parts of the whole and yet still whole in their part-ness.

Even if you do not believe you are the experience, just take a moment of heightened awareness in any part of your day to notice that there is no "I", there only IS.  Labelings ceases to exist when the experiencer becomes the experience.  One becomes free from the mind as we move into unity with the experience.

No thing is ever separate from ourselves as we are never separate from any one thing.

Unity is what exists and potential of this resides in each experience.

Language and Knowing

Pt 1.

Everything in its most subtle form is energy (atom) or vibration (frequency).

Vibration has two aspects that we know of: form and sound.

There is a study that Masaru Emoto performed and wrote a book on his findings called, "The Miracle of Water", which studies the affect vibration (sound) effects the molecular structure of water when introduced to sounds such as "hate" and "love".  The picks of each sound are generally contrasting in nature to ensure an optimal difference of vibration.

I could go on and on about this study but I will leave it at that.  I'd highly recommend his book as it is beautifully written and studied, however, like some studies, there are flaws of which you can learn for yourself :) if interested of course.

Now, back to vibration.

In short, speaking negatively or harsh vibratory sounds creates a polluted structure.  Since we are composed of 70%+ water, the way we speak to others which is also speaking to ourselves from within ourselves immediately affects our physiology.  On the contrary, positive and pleasant vibrations create a structure that is more pure.

When we change the sound current in ourselves, we cultivate a shift.

There is a practice called "Japa" which for those of you who have a Mala (Hindu stoned necklace or bracelet) or Rosary can use it as a tool to recite a particular mantra, which means "heart expansion".  We can perform an internal dialogue to influence our Yantra or (form) through whatever mantra we decide to take on which induces a particular experience.

Pt 2.

Part of attaining knowledge is through learning, which, I hope you did here.  However, wisdom is now taking this knowledge and putting it into action which will lead to experience and experience is of the upmost value in "knowing".

Keep in mind that "knowing" is what the ego will label your experience and create the, "oh, I've done this before or I know how this goes" syndrome.  Liberate yourself from this perverted thinking and always arrive as a beginner mind.

One of my favorite quotes is, "One thing I know is that I don't know".

It's okay to not know, it allows yourself to stay open and receptive, even if you have heard the same thing one hundred times; maybe this time around you will hear it differently.

Experience

No experience will ever be the same.  In experiences that may be similar, the ego will try to label it as something it has done before therefore make you a "knower".  Always be a beginner mind.  Arrive in each experience as it were the first time because you may be surprised when you put the "knowing" aside, you may discover how much you actually do not know.  Show up humble and have an inner willingness to learn.
