In a yang dominant world, we often go about our day with blinders on; focused on our worries, what we need to accomplish, distracted by our cellular devices, etc. We are in constant amusement of external objects, thus diverting us away from connection to self. This is a little random but I think we can all relate on one level or another. Back to the main topic of this post, "people want to be seen".
We have our own lives to live, personal problems to overcome, whatever, whatever, we experience a lot in a given day and it can be extremely stressful and distracting. What if we put all of that aside for maybe 5 minutes a day and with that 5 minutes of liberation, we actually walked with our heads up instead of in our phones and acknowledged our fellow brothers and sisters. As you pass by someone, give them a smile, give it to them and acknowledge their existence. Say to yourself inwardly, "I see you". Since everything is composed of matter, and all matter is energy, and all energy vibrates and transmits at a different frequency, the mere subtle act of seeing someone, connecting eyes with them and then saying "I see you", may be more powerful than we can even fathom, even something as little as an inward narrative of saying, "I wish you the best" and be deliberate in your delivery of that thought! You never know how that could affect someone. Id argue that verbal exchanges are more powerful than thought form exchanges but hey, who knows. And furthermore this verb or nonverbal exchange may have a positive affect on that persons day, or even life. Seeing someone doesn't just start and stop with visually seeing them, we see hundreds if not thousands of people a day and yet, how many of them do we actually acknowledge? If given the opportunity to talk to a stranger, do it. Something as simple as, hey, how is your day going? or even better, "What has been the best part of your day so far?" Lets go with that one! "Hey, how are you?" has seemed to lose some value because are we really wanting to know how they are or are we just being polite? Do you see the difference? We must ask and live with intention. I talk to strangers because I truly want to know how they are doing, who they are, how their day has been. Let us remember to not underestimate the power of acknowledgement. After all, how good does it feel to be seen?
